According to new research from the Brookings Institution, a team of scholars are exploring the diversity, equity, and inclusion of these technologies with a particular emphasis on historically underserved institutions. AR/VR have already demonstrated their usefulness in medical training, for example, where students can train and engage in experimental surgeries. The concern is that not all higher education institutions have the resources to provide and implement AR/VR for instruction and other college-oriented guidance.
