The pre-collegiate program is a model borrowed from other school districts, and it's been wildly successful in its goal to “assist and encourage first generation college students in their quest to graduate high school and continue with post-secondary education,” the program outline states. Last year, all 10 seniors in the program were accepted to schools and are now attending college. Application and admission to the program doubled from 40 to 80 this year, and is expanding to 100 with more middle school participants next year.
