The road to parity for women in tech - McKinsey

Companies where women are well represented at the top earn up to 50 percent higher profits and share performance, write Gayatri Shenai and coauthors. Yet, gender parity in new hires and equitable advancement remain prevalent issues across industries and roles. In tech, the disparities are even more pronounced: While women earn about half of science and engineering degrees, they make up less than 20 percent of people employed in these fields; when it comes to advancement in tech roles, only 52 women are promoted to manager for every 100 men.
