Guest columnist: Oklahoma's workforce needs students to have literacy in learning - Drew Dugan, Greater Oklahoma City Chamber for the Oklahoman

The skills they learn in the classroom and school are only the beginning of what will be a life of learning. Quality education allows them to continue to acquire new skills, specialize in certain areas or create new opportunities. Business leaders hope educators, parents and students remember that the goal of education is not just to help students achieve graduation, earn a certification of skills or a degree. The ultimate achievement is to make sure the student ― the individual ― has the skills and literacy level that allows them to become productive members of the workforce, earn a good living and help grow the economy.
