This was the first full quarter since the edX transaction closed, and in the period from January through March, 2U’s stock lost more than half its value, dropping from $20.93 per share at the beginning of the year to $10.10 in Friday's trading. Even larger is the value the stock has lost since 2U first announced the deal with edX last summer. When the deal was announced, 2U’s stock was trading at $42.08 per share, a price nearly four times higher than today’s. As a result, its market capitalization has dropped to just shy of $800 million, down from nearly $2 billion not long ago.
