In reviewing international educational frameworks, we have looked at more than 20 institutions that collectively represent over 100 campuses, which helps us to better understand the advantages and challenges of this type of endeavour. These institutions include well-known entities such as New York University and lesser known, though very successful, programmes such as ESCP Business School. While the larger universities – many based in the United States – focus on undergraduate programme delivery and services, some of the most innovative concepts are at postgraduate degree level or focus on specialised programmes for leadership.
