Before 2020 and Covid-19, digital courses were a “nice to have” revenue stream for universities. Now, it’s a core competency requirement, and there’s no going back. Higher education institutions should continue investigating and implementing new ways to use technologies to support the learner and improve the learning environment, whether in an online, hybrid or physical setting. Universities that are willing to evolve from technology laggards to true disruptors will deliver vastly improved online programs and future-proof their institutions with instruction that genuinely engages learners and provides demonstrable competencies.
