University of Arkansas to Restructure Correspondence Program; Name Changes to 'Self-Paced Online Courses'
The University of Arkansas will redesign the way it offers correspondence courses this summer to meet the changing needs of technology-savvy students and to foster higher completion rates for students in these courses. The new structure will be in place July 1, and the program's name will change to "Self-Paced Online Courses," replacing "Independent Study (Correspondence) Courses." Paper-based correspondence courses will be discontinued June 1, and new enrollments will be temporarily stopped July 1 to prepare to make the new system available to students in August.
