On Campus: UW-Madison office in China still on track for mid-June opening - DEBORAH ZIFF, Wisconsin State Journal

Plans to open a UW-Madison office in China by mid-June are on track, university officials say. The Shanghai office will be UW-Madison’s first foreign outpost, and officials are planning a conference on innovation to coincide with the opening. Interim Chancellor David Ward spoke to a group of about 100 faculty and staff last month, calling it a pilot project that will evolve over time, according to a university news release. Officials say the office will offer non-degree professional training, promote faculty collaborations, expand international opportunities for students and advance the state’s economic interests.
