“Tennessee State was removed from warning. ...The board had the option of dropping (Fisk) or putting them on probation if they could demonstrate they were getting better,” said Belle Wheelan, president of SACS. “The folks at Tennessee State took compliance with the principles seriously and worked hard to remove the cloud of doubt. “The folks at Fisk are working hard. Showing good cause is not an easy thing to do.” Fisk faced problems with finances and qualified administrators.
