Fine Print and Tough Questions for the Purdue-Kaplan Deal - Paul Fain, Inside Higher Ed

The Higher Learning Commission faces a challenging task as it kicks the tires of the new institution. Faculty members at Purdue have raised a broad range of concerns about the deal, including complaints about shared governance for the new university and not being notified about the negotiations with Kaplan until an hour before the news went public. “Any way you look at it, this is going to trigger a very careful review,” said Judith Eaton, president of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Russ Poulin agreed.
