Obama administration to accreditors: focus more on student outcomes - Michael Stratford

Obama administration announces modest executive actions aimed at forcing accreditors to focus more on student outcomes -- and urges Congress to impose more sweeping changes. The actions are far less aggressive than many accreditation experts had anticipated, and the administration said that it was significantly constrained by a Congressional ban on the Education Department setting specific accreditation standards involving student outcomes.
