New Sacramento State president suggests online courses, paying students for on-time graduation - Allen Young, Sacramento Business Journal

In his first official day on the job, the new president of California State University Sacramento said expanding online courses would be a key component of graduating more students on time. Robert Nelsen, former president of University of Texas Pan American who replaced retiring president Alexander Gonzalez on Wednesday, also floated the idea of creating monetary-based incentives to get students to rapidly finish academic programs. “We need (students) to graduate, and we need them to graduate on time,” said Nelsen, pointing out that Sacramento State only graduates 9 percent of its students in four years. http://www.bizjournals.com/sacramento/news/2015/07/01/new-sacramento-state-president-suggests-online.html
