John Stancavage: Workers care about more than just money - Tulsa World

For several years now, analysts have been warning companies to prepare for the different motivations of the younger generations moving into the workplace. According to a new survey by a local staffing firm, there now are a sufficient number of these workers to warrant major changes in hiring strategies and employment policies. During the past few decades, baby boomers have ruled. Workers in that age group typically were most concerned with high salaries and stability. But younger generations place a higher emphasis on a company's culture, integrity, flexible scheduling and opportunities for continuing education, a recent study by the Tulsa-based Rowland Group found.
